William Cloud joins Grace Hospital surgical staff

MORGANTON - Blue Ridge HealthCare System welcomes William G. Cloud, M.D., to the Grace Hospital Surgical staff. His practice, Cloud Surgical Solutions, is located at 117 Foothills Drive in Morganton.

"I am excited about the establishment of my practice in the beautiful North Carolina foothills. I believe I have much to offer the area in surgical medicine, and look forward to serving patients here," says Dr. Cloud. "Medicine isn't my life, people are. My lifelong commitment has been to help people live healthy, pain-free lives using the most advanced techniques available. I don't just offer the latest treatment methods, I also offer the personal care and compassion my patients deserve."

Dr. Cloud has clinical experience in all areas of general surgery including vascular, endocrine, trauma, cancer and abdominal, with increasing focus on advanced laparoscopic surgery and complex gastrointestinal surgery.

Before joining the Blue Ridge HealthCare staff, Dr. Cloud worked with the Charlotte Surgical Group in Charlotte and enjoys medical staff privileges at Carolinas Medical Center and Presbyterian/Novant.

Dr. Cloud is a former member of the clinical teaching faculty at Carolinas Medical Center and was awarded teacher of the year in 1992 by the surgical residents.

Dr. Cloud received his medical degree and completed his residency at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville.

He completed his surgical internship at the University of Mississippi in Jackson.

He also completed a fellowship in surgical research of gastric physiology under the leadership of Wallace P. Ritchie, executive director of the American Board of Surgery. Dr. Cloud is certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

Dr. Cloud and his wife, Bobbie, have three children.
